Estimate FAQ

Estimates that require an in-person visit to the property will cost $100 after June 2024. All 2 J’s & Sons landscape and hardscape Estimates will only be done in person. Lawn Care Estimates can normally be done over the phone and with a property drive-by. 2 J’s & Sons does not provide any estimate or work without having a visual on the property. No work will be done without a 2 J’s employee either meeting the property owner or payment being made for service first.

2 J’s & Sons offers budget billing for lawn care and landscape maintenance customers. Pay weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. Combine lawn care services with landscape maintenance services like shrub trimming or garden care. Then pay an agreed-upon fee throughout the year with our Budget Billing.

Please let us know when you contact 2 J’s for an estimate. There are several ways we can help with the cost of landscape designs and builds.

1) We can give you a general idea of what materials may cost before we come to an estimate. This works best if you have a general idea of what you want. For example the dimensions of your project and the materials you would like to use.

2) 2 J’s & Sons loves to break large landscape projects down into more budget-friendly pieces. For example, you want a sitting area or a retaining wall but need the area leveled and irrigation or drainage issues need to be fixed first. We can give you several small estimates to complete these steps over period of time to make them better fit your budget.

2 J’s & Sons will not guarantee that an estimate is good for any length of time. A landscape estimate provides a general idea of the project’s potential cost based on an initial evaluation. It outlines expected expenses but is not a final or exact price. In todays market material prices are changing frequently and 2 J’s has no control over material costs.

Prices change frequently in the landscape industry. A block that was $1 at the time the price was pulled for an estimate may be $1.5 or $0.5 by the time it is sourced and delivered to the job site. Say your landscape project needs 1000 blocks that we estimated at $1. Then at the time of purchase the price has changed.

Example: Estimate was $1×1,000=$1,000 Goal Price

Price Increased +$.50 from estimate to purchase time $1.50×1,000=$1,500 $500 Over Budget Don’t worry 2 J’s & Sons Lawn and Landscape will call you for approval before purchasing. Even though you will not be happy with us,

Price Decreased -$.50 from time of estimate to time of materials purchase $0.50×1,000=$500 Customer Saves $500. That’s right if everything else goes in your estimate according to budget you do not owe us that extra $500 that we estimated. Unless you have something else you would like to add to your service or design.

2 J’s & Sons will happily answer any questions you have to the best of our ability over the phone for free if we have the time. We will not be able to answer specific questions or give you good solutions without a visit to the property in question. For that, you will need to schedule an Estimate and pay the $100 Estimate fee.
